Paralegal Lit

Saturday, November 23, 2019: 10:00 a.m — 12:00 p.m.

Paralegal Lit gives students the opportunity to complete simulated fact situations comparable to those attorneys may ask paralegals for assistance in researching. Students will use real-world examples and common legal resources in print to experience how primary and secondary law work together.

Students will be given an overview of various types of legal materials, instructed in their usage, and gain a basic understanding of legal research techniques.

Students will complete hands-on exercises simulating on-the-job experience and receive a record of attendance.

Class covers:

  • Types of legal materials and how to use them
  • Using practice guides, codes and locating forms
  • Legal research core competencies
  • In-class, hands-on practice
  • Collection and services at the LA Law Library

Class size capped at 30 students.
Registration well in advance is recommended.
Attendance limited to current Paralegal Students.
Proof of current enrollment required.
