Join a live question and answer session about tenants’ and landlords’ rights and responsibilities. An experienced landlord-tenant attorney will be available to answer questions about eviction protections for nonpayment of rent due to COVID-19 or other economic hardships, what landlords can and cannot do during (and after) the pandemic, the process for collecting past-due rent through small claims court, what the outlook might be for renters now that the statewide and countywide eviction moratorium has expired and updated eviction protections for tenants in the City of Los Angeles and other parts of Los Angeles County. Whether you are a landlord or a tenant, you are welcome to attend and get the vital information you need.

Although you can listen to the class from various kinds of devices, you will need video to view the speaker(s) and any presentation materials, and will need to connect through Zoom to be able to participate in the written Q&A or chat features.

Presented by Rebecca Henry:

Rebecca is a 1993 graduate from the UCLA School of Law. She is an attorney by day and a craftswoman by night. She is from a family of Southerners from Louisiana on her mother’s side and South Carolina on her father’s side who have a rich history of ancestral remembrance and retention of folkways.  As a creator and designer, Rebecca pulls on her family traditions to weave and craft the stories that inspire the fashion collections for House of Aama. As an attorney, she is the director of legal and business affairs for the brand. She also oversees manufacturing and production.
