Legal Name & Gender Marker Change Workshop

Legal volunteers will help you complete the court forms necessary for you to petition the court for a legal name and gender marker change, and a filing fee waiver.
Assistance Includes:
- Supplying the new court forms needed to file for a legal name & gender marker change
- Providing the forms needed to ask the court to waive filing fees, based on income
- Assistance completing the forms
- Providing the address for where to file your completed court forms
- Sharing information about recent changes in the law
- Providing information for updating federal and state identity documents
What to bring:
- Social Security Number (SSN), if applicable
- Driver's license or California identification number, if applicable
- Household income information to determine eligibility for fee waiver. This can include: pay stubs, disability or unemployment statements, or any other proof of income
