Gathering Evidence and Testimony in Federal Court: What You Need to Know

Thursday August 16, 2018  12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

In every court case, there is an important step called "discovery." During discovery, both sides collect and exchange information about the case and prepare for trial. In this class, learn how to navigate the discovery process and best position your case for trial. This class focuses on how discovery is conducted in federal court.

Sponsored by the generous support of the Federal Bar Association.

Class covers:

  • An overview of the types of discovery available to a civil litigant.
  • Initiating and responding to written discovery.
  • The preservation, collection and production of documents and other tangible items.
  • Noticing, taking and appearing for depositions.
  • Planning for use of evidence at trial.
